Meta Previews VR Headsets To Bring Them Into The Mainstream

In recent news, Meta has taken a big step to try and bring VR headsets into routine use. For this reason, it has now shared a sneak peek of its soon-to-be-launched Quest 3 VR headsets.

The good news from the company came just recently when it revealed that the price of these headsets is going to start at $US499.99 with a storage of 128 GB. Customers will be able to purchase them in the coming fall.

A video was posted to announce the launch, which revealed a number of features of Quest 3, as well as its technical enhancements.

First of all, these VR headsets will consist of enhanced tech designed to provide optimal visual performance. Thus, users will be able to benefit from twice the processing power as compared to the last Quest unit.

Another wonderful feature that will now be a part of the new headsets will be a complete color passthrough. Through this, users will be able to use the VR devices as AR devices as well.

Consequently, this feature will help improve digital experiences, which will easily interact with objects in the real world.

The last significant new feature of the Quest 3 VR headsets will be a different shape. It will now be available in a sleeker and smaller design, making it wearable and comfortable for a seamless VR experience.

The announcement further revealed that Quest 3 would combine pancake optics with a high-resolution display in order to ensure that content looks better than ever before.

Moreover, the extra pixels will be powered with the help of a Snapdragon chipset. This will be specially developed by joining hands with the popular Qualcomm Technologies.

While talking about the next generation of Snapdragon chipsets, the announcement revealed that it is capable enough to deliver over twice the quality of graphics than the one before.

As a result of this newly developed chipset, users have been promised immersive games with crisp details and pretty smooth performance to keep them hooked.

This is an important advancement for the VR ambitions of Meta, which lead toward the next step of the universe, which is a metaverse push based on VR.

However, Meta has clarified that it will also be incorporating elements of mixed reality, as well as AR. As a result, users can easily merge real-world settings into newly developed enhanced environments.

Despite the fact that people have been skeptical about a metaverse future, they believe that it is making significant progress in the right direction.

In recent times, VR take-up has gone down due to a bunch of negative press surrounding the metaverse. For this reason, the enthusiasm regarding the project has somewhat dampened.

What has further hampered adoption is the lack of VR applications. The fact that there are 500 games in the VR marketplace of Meta has made no difference to users.

As of now, customers do not have a compelling reason to pay to obtain a VR unit. But Meta is trying its best to ensure that there is a shift in this when it launches the new and improved VR units.
